Sunderland have reportedly agreed a fee with AZ Alkmaar for Jozy Altidore.
According to Sky Sports News, the striker confirmed the move on his website yesterday evening, before removing the statement.
The 23-year-old is expected to undergo a medical with the Black Cats on Monday before penning a permanent deal with the club.
The United States international previously spent time in the Premier League with Hull City, before joining AZ in 2011.
It was reported that Sunderland had an initial bid for Altidore turned down earlier this week.
