Danny Graham: 'We deserved our luck'

Sunderland striker Danny Graham believes that his side deserved their fortune for their two goals in their victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

Sunderland striker Danny Graham has insisted that his side "deserved" their luck in their 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.

The Black Cats moved out of the relegation zone as they claimed the three points at Goodison Park thanks to deflected second-half goals from Graham and Jermain Defoe.

Graham feels that he and his teammates earned their luck against the Toffees because of their efforts over the last few games.

He told the club's official website: "The most important thing is the result, whoever scores the goals. We needed three points and got them today.

"I think ever since that game [at Stoke], certainly the second half, the boys have had a very good feeling going into games.

"We defended brilliantly as a team, including the boys who came on. Everyone put in a full shift and we deserved that bit of luck. Now we need to focus ahead of the Leicester game."

Graham's strike was the first since his move to the Black Cats in January 2013.
