Sunderland accept misconduct charge

Sunderland have accepted a charge of misconduct from the Football Association.

The Black Cats received the punishment following the Tyne-Wear derby against Newcastle United earlier this month.

The charge relates to a clash between Sunderland's James McClean on Newcastle's Danny Simpson.

Sunderland attacker Stephane Sessegnon was also sent off during the match, while skipper Lee Cattermole was red carded after the final whistle.

A personal hearing will now take place.
