Martin O'Neill "unhappy" with penalty

Martin O'Neill has admitted that he was "unhappy" with the decision that saw a penalty awarded against his Sunderland side this afternoon.

Everton's Leighton Baines took full advantage of Howard Webb's verdict to ensure that the Toffees left the Stadium of Light with a share of the spoils.

"I was obviously unhappy with the penalty. The players that were heavily involved with it were more upset," O'Neill told BBC Radio Five Live.

"Howard [Webb] must have thought there was contact there but there was clearly no contact.

"It's disappointing because it has a major bearing on the game."

Next up for Sunderland is a home fixture against league leaders Manchester City on Sunday.
