Di Canio "not worried" by position

Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio has insisted that he is unfazed by the Black Cats' position at the bottom of the Premier League table.

The North-East outfit only have one point to their name following four games, their latest result being a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

"To be at the bottom isn't very good but I am not worried," Sky Sports News quotes Di Canio as saying. "That might sound strange but it is only the fourth game, not the 20th.

"In 20 games' time, if we are still at the bottom, we lose, then I am angry. Now? No. The fans might be thinking, 'What is going on?' but we are going to win more games than last year and, if we do that, we stay up."

Sunderland signed 14 players during the summer transfer window.
