Carlos Cuellar bids farewell to Sunderland

Carlos Cuellar says goodbye to Sunderland after seeing his contract expire.

Carlos Cuellar has said goodbye to Sunderland after seeing his contract expire at the Stadium of Light.

The 32-year-old defender claimed last month that he was eager to stay with the Black Cats, but the board have failed to offer him a new deal.

The Spaniard has made just five appearances in all competitions this season due to ankle and hamstring problems respectively.

Sunderland are yet to confirm Cuellar's departure from the club.

Cuellar joined Sunderland from Aston Villa in 2012.
