Lee Cattermole has been cautioned for vandalism following the incident in December when five cars were damaged near the Sports Direct Arena in Newcastle.

Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole has been cautioned by police for vandalising cars while on a night out in Newcastle.

The 24-year-old, who admitted to five charges of damaging cars parked near the Sports Direct Arena, must also fork out more than £4,000 in compensation.

Black Cats teammate Nicklas Bendtner escaped reprimand when the same charges against him were dropped last month.

The pair were on a night out in December when they were arrested following the wrecking spree.
