Advocaat wary of Spurs confidence

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has admitted that he is wary of the confidence held by Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of the teams' meeting on Sunday.

Advocaat's side are currently second-bottom in the Premier League with just two points from their opening four games, and while Spurs are only two places above, the Dutchman remains cautious of the potential threat from Spurs.

"Spurs are a very good side with very good individual players and I have seen interviews with some of their players saying they might only have three points but they have outplayed all their opponents - including United," he told reporters.

"For me that says enough about the self-confidence of the Spurs players. But we also need the three points so that makes it a very important game for both clubs and a very interesting one as well."

Sunderland go into Sunday's game with draws against Swansea City and Aston Villa under their belt, as well as defeats to Leicester City and Norwich City.
