Christian Gentner close to new Stuttgart deal?

Stuttgart midfielder Christian Gentner has revealed that he has started contract talks with the Bundesliga outfit.

The 27-year-old, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, has reportedly attracted interest from England in recent weeks.

As it stands he is free to discuss terms with other clubs in January, but he has claimed that talks between the two parties are underway.

"We have started negotiations. It's all in the beginning," he told Kicker.

Gentner has also played for Wolfsburg in the German league.
