RC Strasbourg continue to be among the most active clubs in the summer transfer window, with negotiations now progressing for the potential arrival of another winger.
Having already triggered options to buy players such as Andrew Omobamidele and Valentin Barco, as well as bringing in summer recruits like Panichelli and Amougou, Strasbourg have completed nine signings so far this window, with over €80m (£67.7m) spent. The Ligue 1 side are preparing for their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff campaign and have wasted no time in strengthening the squad.
Their transfer activity is far from over. After making an offer to Manchester City for 19-year-old prospect Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, the Alsatian outfit are also pushing ahead in the pursuit of another attacking talent. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Strasbourg are now in advanced talks to sign Southampton winger Samuel Edozie.
Samuel Edozie set to become Strasbourg’s 10th signing of the summer?
The 22-year-old was previously linked with a move to Club Brugge, but Strasbourg now appear to be in pole position. Discussions with Southampton are said to be progressing well, although no further details have emerged at this stage. Edozie is currently valued at €6m (£5.1m) by Transfermarkt.
The England youth international is coming off the back of a successful loan spell in Belgium with Anderlecht, where he scored four goals and registered six assists in 35 appearances across all competitions. Naturally a left-winger, he is also capable of playing on the right flank.
