Stoke, Newcastle 'eye non-league forward'

Stoke City and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old forward Nordine Ibouroi, who currently plays his football for fourth-tier French outfit FC Martigues.

Ibouroi, who was born on the island of Comoros, has been linked with a move to Saint-Etienne in recent weeks.

However, according to The Sun, there is also firm Premier League interest in the teenager, with Stoke and Newcastle both sending scouts to watch the non-league striker in action over the last couple of weeks.

The report adds that Bundesliga club FC Koln have also been alerted to Ibouroi's potential as a host of European clubs prepare to battle for the services of a player that currently operates in Championnat National 2.

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona famously turned out for Martigues during the 1985-86 campaign.
