Brek Shea returns to Stoke City from loan at Barnsley

Brek Shea's loan spell at Barnsley has been cut short as the midfielder returned to his parent club Stoke City today.

The United States international was due to remain at Oakwell until April 3 after extending his January loan deal, but he will now return to Stoke a month early.

Shea, 24, made eight appearances for Barnsley, five as a starter, during his time with the Tykes.

He has played just five times for Stoke since signing for the Potters in January of last year.
