Stoke boss Tony Pulis says that it is "Sunderland's day" after losing 4-0 at the Stadium of Light.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has conceded that it was "Sunderland's day" after seeing his side lose 4-0 at the Stadium of Light.

The visitors found themselves 3-0 down at the break, and a further goal after half-time condemned the Potters to their first league defeat of the season.

"It was Sunderland's day today," Pulis told Sky Sports News.

"If you look at the first three goals, the first goal we could have done without, the second goal was an own goal and the third one was a deflection.

"We had chances at the other end but they were blocked or cleared off the line. We could have had a penalty when Peter [Crouch] got pushed off on one of the long throws. It was Sunderland's day."

Despite the defeat, the Potters are fifth in the Premier League table and host Manchester United next Saturday.
