Glen Johnson: 'Stoke City are a club going in the right direction'

Glen Johnson believes that Stoke City are heading in the "right direction" following his free transfer from Liverpool.

Stoke City's new signing Glen Johnson has expressed his delight at moving to the Britannia Stadium.

The 30-year-old completed a free transfer to the Potters on Sunday after being released by Liverpool in June.

After the move was confirmed, Johnson tweeted: "Very happy to have signed for a good club going in the right direction! Good times #NewChallenge."

The full-back spent six years at Anfield, but has since been replaced by former Southampton star Nathaniel Clyne.
