Charlie Adam hails Michael Owen's Stoke City arrival

Charlie Adam has praised Stoke City for completing the addition of former England striker Michael Owen.

The Potters confirmed that the ex-Manchester United frontman had agreed a one-year contract at the Britannia Stadium earlier today.

Giving his reaction to the transfer Adam, who also recently joined Stoke from Liverpool, said that his new employers have pulled off a "great" signing.

"Great news that @themichaelowen has signed for stoke," the Scotland international wrote on Twitter.

Owen is expected to make his debut for the club following the conclusion of this weekend's international break.
