Stockport County sack Darije Kalezic and appoint Ian Bogie within a matter of minutes.

Stockport County have confirmed Ian Bogie as their new manager, just a few minutes after they had sacked Darije Kalezic.

Kalezic, 43, was only appointed to the Edgeley Park helm 50 days ago, but under his guidance the club have slipped to 20th in the Blue Square Bet Premier table.

Discussing the hiring of Kalezic, vice-chairman Spencer Fearn conceded that the board had made an error.

"The reality is that despite our best intentions we believe that we got the decision to employ a manager without Conference experience wrong, and with seven cup finals remaining we have to try and make a positive move that will give us a better chance of retaining our Blue Square Premier status," he told the club's official website.

The newly-appointed Bogie added: "Stockport County is a massive club with a great history, but everyone knows that there is a big challenge on to get them out of the precarious position they are in, however it is a challenge that I am looking forward to immensely.

"Obviously I will be leaning heavily on Alan Lord for the first week but I have plenty of experience in this division and I believe that there is enough quality in the playing staff for us to work with as I look to put my stamp on the club.

"Having played at Edgeley Park myself in the past, I know how the blue and white army can intimidate opposing teams and I would ask that players, staff and supporters get behind us as we play the seven cup finals that we have and believe that together we can pull through."

Bogie had been out of work since he left Gateshead in December 2012.
