Jan Vertonghen's Tottenham Hotspur deal to collapse?

Tottenham Hotspur's proposed deal to sign Jan Vertonghen has reportedly stalled over Ajax's asking price for the defender.

The Premier League club were thought to have recently agreed a £60,000-per-week wage deal with the 25-year-old.

However, Spurs officials hope to pay £8m for the Belgian instead of the £13m that Ajax want for the player.

Vertonghen was shown around the Premier League club's training ground before Sunday's victory over Fulham.
