Spurs make Berbatov bid?

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a bid to sign Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The 32-year-old, who spent two years at White Hart Lane before joining Manchester United in 2008, is said to have become frustrated with life at Fulham and asked to leave earlier this month.

Arsenal and West Ham United have been linked with his services, but Spurs are in pole position to land the frontman after making a £1m offer, according to The Metro.

Head coach Tim Sherwood is thought to have been persuaded to make the offer after chairman Daniel Levy was told of Berbatov's desire to return to North London.

The former Bulgaria international, who joined Fulham in 2012, has five months left on his contract at Craven Cottage.
