Roberto Soldado close to Villarreal switch?

Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado is reportedly on the verge of joining Villarreal.

The 30-year-old moved to Spurs two years ago from Valencia, but he has struggled for playing time and has managed just 16 goals for the club.

He has been strongly linked with an exit from White Hart Lane in recent months, and according to Football Espana, Villarreal are close to reaching a deal with Tottenham for his transfer.

Soldado, who has scored seven goals in 12 games for Spain, found the net once in the Premier League last season.
