Steven Pienaar told he can leave Tottenham

Tottenham have told midfielder Steven Pienaar that he can leave the club for the right price, according to reports.

Pienaar, who arrived at White Hart Lane for £2.5m last winter, has made eight total appearances for the side in just under 12 months with the club.

However, amid reported interest from Sunderland, the South African has been told that interested parties must match their £5m asking price, according to Goal.com.

Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill is reported to be planning a £4m move for the midfielder.
