Paulinho eager for Gareth Bale stay at Tottenham Hotspur

Paulinho reveals that he is keen for his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Gareth Bale to stay at the club.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has revealed that he is keen for Gareth Bale to stay at the club.

Bale, who is currently sidelined with a foot injury, has been heavily linked with a record move to Real Madrid this summer.

When asked if he knew whether the Welshman was leaving, Paulinho told Fox Sports Brazil: "I sincerely don't know, but I think this is something more private for Bale, he doesn't tell me anything.

"But I hope he continues with us, so that he can help us. He is a great player and achieved great stats last season, so I hope he stays with us."

Paulinho made his Spurs debut on Sunday when he came off the bench during the team's 1-0 win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
