Villarreal reportedly plan to open discussions with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a permanent deal for Giovani Lo Celso.

Villarreal are reportedly keen to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Having fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte, the Argentina international was allowed to move to the Yellow Submarine on loan for the rest of 2021-22.

Since his arrival, the 25-year-old has made eight starts and three substitute appearances, his latest outing come against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal have been left delighted with the impact of Lo Celso, encouraging them to hold further talks with Spurs.

While the La Liga outfit do not possess an option to sign the playmaker on a permanent deal, it is claimed that every effort will be made to reach an agreement with their counterparts at the Premier League team.

However, Spurs will not feel forced into agreeing to part ways with Lo Celso for a cut-price fee with over three years remaining on his contract.
