How Tottenham could line up against Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison is expected to return for Tuesday's Joan Gamper Trophy showdown with Barcelona.

The Brazilian striker missed Sunday's 5-1 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk due to a knock, but he is reportedly on course to make his return on Catalonian soil.

That is more than can be said for Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Rodrigo Bentancur (ACL) and Bryan Gil (groin), while Fraser Forster is dealing with a back injury and could sit this one out too.

With just 48 hours to recover from Sunday's exertions, Ange Postecoglou should make a raft of changes from the side that thumped Shakhtar, especially as he held off on making any alterations until the 77th minute of that match.

Guglielmo Vicario might still retain his place in goal, but Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez could displace Cristian Romero and Ben Davies at the back, where Ashley Phillips is also another option.

Tottenham could confirm Micky van de Ven's arrival from Wolfsburg before kickoff on Tuesday, but the Dutchman - who watched the win over Shakhtar from the stands - is unlikely to be considered for his debut so soon.

Out wide, Pedro Porro and Sergio Reguilon are in line to demote Emerson Royal and Destiny Udogie to the bench, while a new-look midfield may comprise Giovani Lo Celso, Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma, the latter of whom has seemingly overcome a small blow to the ankle.

Harry Kane responded to perennial speculation over his future by scoring four at the weekend, but he could also be spared if Richarlison is deemed fit enough, while Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic could complete a freshened-up attacking trident.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup: Vicario; Porro, Dier, Sanchez, Reguilon; Skipp, Bissouma, Lo Celso; Solomon, Richarlison, Perisic
