Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan admits that he is relishing the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan has revealed that he is looking forward to the game against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

The Potters have enjoyed a good portion of success against Spurs since being promoted in 2008, winning four and drawing one in the nine meetings between the sides.

The Republic of Ireland international is hopeful of another good result in the game on Saturday, but admitted that it will be a tough game with Andre Villas-Boas in charge.

"It will be very difficult because Spurs are terrific at home," said Whelan.

"But we have had a couple of results down there. It is a great place to go if you can get a result.

"Villas-Boas has come in after leaving Chelsea and he has got his own ideas. I think of late you have seen with Spurs' results and how they are playing that they have been doing well, so it is going to be a tough game."

Stoke are currently ninth in the Premier League table.
