Jan Vertonghen: 'Tottenham Hotspur aren't title contenders'

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen believes that his side are not in contention to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The North London outfit currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, 10 points adrift of leaders Manchester United.

"[Manchester] City and United are competing for the championship, the rest of the teams are competing for third and fourth place and I hope we can be there," the Daily Star quotes Vertonghen as saying.

Spurs are preparing to take on Fulham this weekend.
