Rafael van der Vaart is hopeful that manager Harry Redknapp will extend his contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 65-year-old has one year remaining on his current deal and has admitted that the decision over his White Hart Lane future is "up to Tottenham".
However, Van der Vaart, whose Spurs future is also in doubt amid interest from Schalke 04, is confident that Redknapp will stay.
"He is doing a fantastic job, so I don't see any problems," said the Dutchman.
"I think he's going to sign a new contract - I hope so - and I think it's also good for every team when they have a manager who's there for many years. So I hope he stays."
Redknapp signed Van der Vaart from Real Madrid for a fee of £8m in August 2010.
