Tottenham Hotspur's squad has reportedly been split after boss Jose Mourinho branded them "lazy" following Sunday's Premier League loss to Everton.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the only goal of the match as Everton ran out deserved 1-0 winners in both sides' opening fixture of the 2020-21 campaign.
Mourinho did not hold back after the game in North London as he publicly criticised his players for their work ethic.
According to the Daily Mail, some players respect their manager's comments and intend to use the criticism to spur them on.
However, others in the dressing room are said to have been less understanding with Mourinho's outburst.
Speaking after the match, left-back Ben Davies said: "I think everybody worked hard. Me, personally, I gave it my all.
"The performance wasn't up to scratch. It's hard to put it down to a lack of effort."
Tottenham switch focus to the Europa League on Thursday with a second-qualifying round tie away to Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
