Danny Rose: 'I should have been sent off'

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose admits that he should have been sent off during his side's 1-0 win against Stoke City.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has admitted that he should have been sent off during his side's 1-0 win against Stoke City.

The 23-year-old had scored for Spurs in the first half, but was involved in a heated exchange with Geoff Cameron and reacted by pushing the Stoke player in the chest.

Rose was shown a yellow card before being taken off by his manager moments later and he accepts that he was very lucky to stay on the pitch.

"I don't mind people booing me but I did lose my head for 10 seconds. It was because of the bad tackle but nothing to do with the fans," Sky Sports quotes him as saying.

"I never want to hide but taking me off was the right thing for the manager to do. And reacting like I did was the wrong thing. I think I'm lucky not to get sent off."

Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League table and are within three points of fifth-placed Everton.
