Redknapp: United, City shouldn't be in Europe

Harry Redknapp has said that Manchester United and Manchester City should not still be in Europe after their elimination from the Champions League.

The Tottenham boss has slammed UEFA's distribution rules, which allow all third-placed teams from the group stage of the competition – both Manchester clubs included – to enter the Europa League.

"How can you go from the Champions League to the Europa League?" he said. "You get knocked out, you're out, surely.

"If you get beaten in the FA Cup you don't get into the Carling Cup semi-final. It's unbelievable. I don't understand it."

Meanwhile, Tottenham are on the verge of elimination from the competition after suffering a defeat to PAOK Salonika earlier this month.
