Mauricio Pochettino 'to be offered new Spurs deal'

Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly be offered a new deal to stay on as Tottenham Hotspur manager amid rumoured interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is to be offered an improved contract with the London side amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Argentine is enjoying a successful second season at White Hart Lane, having guided them to fourth in the Premier League table, five points off the top, with 15 games of the season to play.

According to The Mirror, Pochettino currently earns an annual salary of £3.5m which will be "increased significantly" if he agrees to a new deal with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

The pair are thought to enjoy a strong working relationship, with Levy giving Pochettino "free rein" over all transfers in and out of the club.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Pochettino said of his future: "I'm very happy here. We've created a very good group, with a strong basis for success in the future and I'm very happy. My focus is here, to try for success at Tottenham and to work hard."

The former Espanyol and Southampton manager has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal with Spurs.
