Mauricio Pochettino: 'Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy at Sergio Aguero's level'

Pochettino: 'Kane, Vardy on Aguero's level'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that his striker Harry Kane and fellow England international Jamie Vardy are playing at a similar level to Sergio Aguero this season.

Manchester City frontman Aguero is often described as the Premier League's top striker and he has been in fine form of late, although he is still behind both Vardy and Kane in the scoring charts.

Vardy, after scoring both goals in high-flying Leicester City's win over Liverpool on Tuesday, leads the way on 18, with Kane joint-second on 15 with Everton's Romelu Lukaku.

Aguero has 13, but his minutes-per-goal ratio is better than both Vardy and Kane after he was hampered by injury earlier in the season.

When asked about the top marksmen in the Premier League, Pochettino told reporters: "Today Vardy and Kane show big quality and the same quality as Aguero.

"They are all different and come from different circumstances but if today we speak about Aguero, Vardy or Kane they are some of the best goalscorers in the world. We can't hide that.

"Today Vardy and Kane are at the same level as Aguero."

Vardy, Aguero and Kane all play for the Premier League's top three sides, with only five points between Leicester at the top and Arsenal in fourth.
