England manager Roy Hodgson has said that young Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli deserves his first call-up to the senior squad.
The 19-year-old has been included in the Three Lions party for the forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania later this month.
England have already qualified for next summer's tournament in France, and Hodgson has said that this provides a good opportunity to look at Alli.
"We've been very impressed with what we've seen of him," the England boss told Sky Sports News.
"We're a year away from France, so we're thinking it is a good opportunity to ask him to come with us on this occasion when so many midfield players are actually missing through injury, and get to know him a bit better.
"Who knows, going forward, where he will end up because he's a very exciting talent."
Alli has featured in just eight first-team games for Spurs, who signed him in February from MK Dons but loaned him back to the Championship club until the summer.
