Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scores a record-equalling 43rd Premier League London derby goal in his side's 2-1 win over Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane has equalled a London derby goalscoring feat set by Thierry Henry in his side's 2-1 success over Fulham on Saturday in the Premier League.

The England skipper had already made the net ripple four times in his side's opening five Premier League fixtures during a bright start to the season, including a brace against Nottingham Forest.

Kane, as ever, was chosen by Antonio Conte to lead the line against Fulham alongside Son Heung-min, while Richarlison was drafted into the first XI in place of Dejan Kulusevski.

Richarlison's inclusion paid off as the Brazilian set up Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for Tottenham's opening goal, and Kane would double the Lilywhites' lead in the 75th minute of the contest.

Following some strong play from Ryan Sessegnon on the left-hand side of the field, Kane was on hand to slot home past former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno and dent Fulham's hopes of a late comeback.

Marco Silva's side did through hit back through their own talisman Aleksandar Mitrovic with seven minutes remaining, but Kane's strike ended up proving decisive in North London.

In doing so, the 29-year-old racked up his 43rd goal in Premier League London derbies, matching the record first set by Arsenal's all-time leading scorer Henry.

Tottenham's next London derby - where Kane will aim to score his record-breaking 44th capital clash goal - sees them travel to bitter rivals Arsenal on October 1.

As well as equalling Henry's record, Kane also moved up to third in the Premier League's all-time scoring charts, surpassing Andy Cole with his 188th strike in the competition.

Only compatriots Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208) have netted more Premier League goals than Kane, who now has 252 to his name from 391 games in all tournaments for Spurs.

Kane and Hojbjerg's strikes helped Conte's men extend their unbeaten Premier League start to the season to six games, and their 14-point haul sees them remain in third place behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Lilywhites have only ever managed such a strong start to the season once before in the 2016-17 campaign, where they eventually finished second in the table behind Chelsea.

Tottenham will temporarily take a break from Premier League action in midweek, as Conte prepares his side for their return to the Champions League against Marseille in Group D.

A daunting trip to reigning Premier League champions Man City then awaits Tottenham next weekend, but Conte did oversee a 3-2 win at the Etihad last term thanks to a Kane brace.
