Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel believes that he has the ability to prolong his career despite being in his forties.
The ex-Aston Villa player, whose contract expires at the end of next season, is confident that he can experience many more years at White Hart Lane.
"If you can keep yourself free of major injury and you want to keep playing, then you can play for a while, much longer than an outfield player could," Friedel said.
"It can be done if you want it and I certainly do. I don't find it remarkable that a 40-year-old can still play. My body doesn't feel the way someone might think a 40-year-old should feel."
The American has had stints at Newcastle United, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers throughout his career.
