Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto says that fourth spot in the league is the club's minimum target this season.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has admitted that the club's minimum target for this season is Champions League football.

Spurs were considered to be rank outsiders for fourth spot at the beginning of the season, but they currently sit third in the Premier League table, five points clear of Chelsea in fourth.

"Our minimum target is to finish in the top four. After that, anything is possible. No-one can predict what will happen over the next five months," Assou-Ekotto told Sky Sports News.

"We are no longer looking behind us at other teams' results. Instead, we are the ones getting the results and they are looking at us, hoping we slip up."

Tottenham are in FA Cup action against Cheltenham Town on Saturday afternoon.
