Emmanuel Adebayor: 'We did everything we could'

Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor says his side did everything they could to reach next year's Champions League having fallen short this season.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted that his side did everything they could to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Despite beating Aston Villa 3-0 on the final day of the Premier League season, Spurs finished sixth, meaning they missed out on Europe's elite competition for another year.

Adebayor told BBC Sport: "We had a good momentum this season, we have qualified for the Europa League once again and hopefully next season will be a better season. We did everything we could to reach the top four."

The Togolese forward replaced Roberto Soldado in the team after Tim Sherwood was appointed as manager of the club and enjoyed a fine second half of the season.
