Live Commentary: West Ham United 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur - as it happened

West Ham 2-3 Tottenham - as it happened

Tottenham Hotspur have moved into sixth position in the Premier League standings courtesy of a 3-2 victory over West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho witnessed his new side move into a commanding lead within 49 minutes as Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane all got on the scoresheet.

However, the gloss was taken off the scoreline as Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna netted late consolation strikes for the Hammers.

Find out how all of the action unfolded at the London Stadium courtesy of Sports Mole's minute-by-minute updates below.

2.34pmThat will be all from Sports Mole for this match. Thank you for joining us this afternoon and we hope to see you again soon. If you would like to read our on-the-whistle match report, you can do so by clicking here. Goodbye for now.

FULL TIME:

2.33pmThe full-time whistle goes at the London Stadium and Spurs just about get the job done after bossing the majority of the contest. As already pointed out, Mourinho will be disappointed with the lack of clean sheet, but this was an otherwise excellent showing from the north Londoners.

FULL TIME:

90+7 minWest Ham United 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur

GOAL!

90+6 minThere isn't enough time for West Ham to claim a winner, but this is another consolation goal through Ogbonna, who volleys home from a corner.

GOAL!

90+6 minWEST HAM UNITED 2-3 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (ANGELO OGBONNA)

90+4 minMourinho will be disappointed not to keep a clean sheet, but this is a fine win for his new side. The Portuguese has been a jack-in-the-box on the touchline and it has helped in guiding the north Londoners to three points.

90+2 minTo West Ham's credit, they are still persevering in the final third but Spurs are defending well. He hasn't been mentioned in this commentary, but Sanchez has been the star of the show at the back for the visitors.

90 minThere will be six minutes of added-on time.

DISALLOWED GOAL!

89 minRice converts from close range after getting on the edge of Ogbonna's header, and the goal initially stands. However, VAR intervenes to correctly rule it out.

88 minSissoko also required treatment after sustaining an injury in a separate incident. We are going to have plenty of added-on time.

YELLOW CARD!

87 minA late challenge from Kane on Snodgrass results in the Scot retaliating with what is effectively a rugby tackle on the forward. The referee acts with two yellow cards, which is the right call.

84 minSpurs have just about managed to nullify the extra threat which is coming from West Ham. That said, don't rule out a second from West Ham. They still have a bit of momentum.

82 minSUBSTITUTION! Mourinho moves to back his third switch as Sissoko comes on for Moura.

SHOT!

81 minThis is ambitious from Kane. The Englishman tries his luck with a 35-yard free kick, only for a weak effort to be dealt with by Roberto.

79 minSUBSTITUTION! Here comes Eriksen, who takes the place of Alli.

77 minWest Ham are beginning to fancy this again. Spurs cannot afford to lose concentration at the back. For now, they are trying to take the sting out of the game with some passes in the middle of the pitch.

75 minSUBSTITUTION! An injury to Davies sees Rose introduced for Spurs. We will not be seeing Eriksen for the time being.

GOAL!

73 minNow then, is this game on? Spurs fail to clear the ball and after a brief spell of pressure, Antonio lashes a low effort into the bottom corner from 18 yards out.

GOAL!

73 minWEST HAM UNITED 1-3 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (MICHAIL ANTONIO)

72 minWe are back underway and Mourinho is preparing his first change. It is going to be Eriksen.

70 minFrom the resulting free kick, Kane takes the ball flush in the face. The forward looks fine, but we are going to have a stoppage in play.

YELLOW CARD!

69 minAntonio cuts inside from the right-hand side and it results in a foul by Davies, who picks up a yellow card.

66 minAurier has just nutmegged Snodgrass, and it tells you everything you need to know about how this game is going. This is a complete demolition job from Spurs, but Mourinho will want more goals.

64 minSUBSTITUTION! West Ham's final switch sees Sanchez introduced for Diop. Rice has dropped back into the centre of defence.

63 minTwice in as many minutes, Spurs threaten a fourth after getting in behind the West Ham backline. However, Diop and Fredericks have each got back to deny Kane and Son respectively.

SHOT!

61 minAntonio tries to spark West Ham into life in the final third, but the substitute's rising shot is comfortably claimed by Gazzaniga. It's just his second save of the match.

60 minWe should also point out that this is going to be the first Premier League away win for Spurs since January! It will be a considerable monkey off their back.

58 minThere is very little atmosphere at the London Stadium. The home supporters have effectively conceded defeat before the hour mark. Their side aren't exactly going out of their way to change the course of this contest either.

56 minSUBSTITUTION! Pellegrini makes a second alteration as Fornals is introduced for Yarmolenko.

53 minUnless West Ham produce an almost miracle comeback, you have to wonder whether the manner of this performance will result in the West Ham board removing Pellegrini from his position. This will be five defeats in six, and no win in eight in all competitions.

51 minAfter netting, Kane required a couple of minutes of treatment on an ankle injury, but the Englishman is fine to continue.

GOAL!

49 minThis surely is game over. Aurier produces the perfect cross from the right for Kane, and the forward does the rest with a powerful header from eight yards. Again though, the ball goes through the hands of Roberto...

GOAL!

49 minWEST HAM UNITED 0-3 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (HARRY KANE)

CHANCE!

48 minIt should be game over. Son plays in Moura who only has Roberto to beat from close range, but the Brazilian drags his effort well wide of the far post! However...

KICKOFF:

46 minWest Ham get us back underway.

1.33pmYep, there is one alteration. Michail Antonio has been introduced in place of Anderson.

1.30pmThe two teams are beginning to make their way out for the second half. I would be surprised if we do not see at least one change from West Ham.

1.25pmA quick reminder of the two substitutes' benches... WEST HAM UNITED SUBSTITUTES: Martin, Balbuena, Zabaleta, Sanchez, Fornals, Antonio, Ajeti TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBSTITUTES: Austin, Rose, Walker-Peters, Foyth, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Eriksen

1.20pmThe half-time whistle goes at the London Stadium and Spurs deservedly lead West Ham by a 2-0 scoreline. Son and Moura have got on the scoresheet for the visitors, while Mourinho will feel that his new should be further ahead. The Hammers have been poor and are a long way from getting back into this contest.

HALF TIME:

45+3 minWest Ham United 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur

SAVE!

45+2 minSpurs almost make it three with Sanchez seeing a header tipped over the crossbar by Roberto. West Ham are all over the place and need the break.

45 minThere will be two minutes of added-on time.

GOAL!

43 minSpurs double their advantage and it's a brilliant goal. Alli somehow keeps the ball in play on the touchline to give Son an opportunity to run down the left. The winger proceeded to find Moura at the back post, with the Brazilian getting in front of Cresswell to convert from six yards.

GOAL!

43 minWEST HAM UNITED 0-2 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (LUCAS MOURA)

SHOT!

41 minRoberto is having another mare of a game. The goalkeeper comes out to punch a free kick and fails to make connection with the ball. It falls to Alli whose volley is heading goalwards before Roberto claws it away from danger.

YELLOW CARD!

39 minFredericks is the second West Ham defender to go into the book for a late challenge on Son. The right-back's studs make contact with the winger's ankle, and it's a strong tackle.

SHOT!

38 minAlli follows up that assist with a shot from distance, but his low strike goes a yard or so wide of Roberto's right-hand post. West Ham are on the rack here.

GOAL!

36 minThe first goal of the Mourinho era goes to Son, who receives a pass from Alli before firing a left-footed effort into the far bottom corner. However, Roberto should have done much better, with the Spaniard not getting a strong enough hand behind the shot.

GOAL!

36 minWEST HAM UNITED 0-1 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (SON HEUNG-MIN)

35 minAlli is playing with a lot more freedom this afternoon. As well as contributing in the final third, he has just began a move in his own half before his final pass to Son ends up being too strong.

33 minKane and Alli combine to play the ball into the path of Son, who is advancing into the penalty area. However, Rice gets across to make the challenge.

32 minSpurs up the pressure with three successive corners being earned within the space of 90 seconds. However, after a block is made to deny Alderweireld, West Ham are able to clear the danger.

30 minWe reach the half-hour mark with neither team really making any inroads at either end. There are flurries here and there, but it feels like both teams are waiting for the other to make a mistake.

28 minYou get the impression that the West Ham fans have not warmed to Roberto. The stand-in goalkeeper, who has made numerous mistakes since replacing Lukasz Fabianski, has just received sarcastic cheers for making a routine claim.

26 minFor the first time in the match, Anderson gets in behind Aurier down the left flank and he has options in the middle. However, rather than thread a pass across the middle for Yarmolenko, he takes a touch inside and the move breaks down.

24 minOne notable change that West Ham have made in recent minutes is their backline moving five yards further up the pitch. Pellegrini is obviously wary that the Spurs frontline are occupying too much space close to their goal.

22 minThere are signs that this game is beginning to open up a bit, which probably suits neither side given their recent issues at the back. Despite the lack of clear-cut openings, I cannot see this remaining goalless.

SHOT!

20 minSpurs spring to life at the other end through Son, who cuts inside onto his right foot before seeing a long-range effort pushed away from the far corner by Roberto.

18 minWest Ham go on the offensive with Yarmolenko's inswinging delivery being intended for the advancing Snodgrass. However, Aurier does well to see the ball behind for a goal kick.

16 minMourinho is already taking notes on the touchline, which shouldn't come as a surprise. There are going to be aspects of his performance which he will like, and some not so much.

14 minWhile the opportunities have dried up for the time being, this match remains an entertaining watch. Neither team are looking particularly solid at the back.

YELLOW CARD!

12 minThis is an astonishing decision from the referee. Kane was pulling the arm of Diop as the two contested a ball on the left, leading to the defender handling the ball when falling to the ground. However, rather than give the West Ham the free kick he deserved, he has booked him! Madness.

10 minThis game is warming up nicely. West Ham are beginning to match the visitors in the middle of the park, and it is leading to openings being created further forward.

CHANCE!

8 minBetter from the Hammers as Fredericks finds Haller with an outswinging cross from the right. The forward beat Aurier in the air, but the ball took a slight deflection, which gave Gazzaniga the chance to make an easy save.

6 minIt's very early days, but Spurs have been very good so far. Forward-thinking with the ball and quick into the tackle when they haven't got possession of it. West Ham have barely strung three passes together.

DISALLOWED GOAL!

4 minSpurs have the ball in the back of the net! However, Kane is a yard offside when he receives a pass from Alli. It was a fine finish, however, with the ball being drilled into the roof of the net from 10 yards.

3 minIt's been a positive start from Mourinho's new side, who have bossed possession and shown plenty of ambition down the flanks. West Ham are struggling to get going.

KICKOFF:

1 minSpurs get us underway!

12.29pmTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR XI: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Davies; Dier, Winks; Moura, Alli, Son; Kane TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBSTITUTES: Austin, Rose, Walker-Peters, Foyth, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Eriksen
