Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole looks ahead to Wednesday's fourth-round encounter between Spurs and Brighton in the League Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur will be eager to get back to winning ways on Wednesday at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in round four of the League Cup.

The Spurs players were booed off the pitch on Sunday after they were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino's team are currently languishing in 11th place in the table with just three wins from their opening nine matches of the season.

Their League Cup campaign got off to a typically shaky start last month as they had to come from behind to earn a 3-1 victory on home turf against Nottingham Forest.

However, standing between them and a place in the fifth round will be a Brighton side that is on a woeful run of form, winning once in their last 11 games in all competitions.

The Seagulls, who are sitting a mere two points above the relegation zone in the Championship standings, earned victories over Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town and Burton Albion to reach this stage of the competition.

Nabil Bentaleb, Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker are all sidelined for the hosts, while Brighton have no new injury problems heading into the game.
