Emmanuel Adebayor ruled out for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Abebayor has been ruled out of Thursday's Europa League clash against Lazio with a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old, who joined on a permanent basis from Manchester City in the summer, had been expected to make his debut in the tie with the Italian club.

However, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has ruled the Togo international out with a hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could be handed his debut for the club.
