Hello and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match in the Champions League between Tottenham Hotspur and APOEL. With qualification and top spot already assured, Spurs will make changes for tonight's match, but head coach Mauricio Pochettino will be demanding an upturn in the club's form ahead of a return to Premier League action. Let's see who has made his starting lineup...

Let's start with the Spurs side with Pochettino seemingly going for four at the back, rather than operating with a back three and two wing-backs. There is a rare start for Juan Foyth, while Davinson Sanchez plays due to his impending suspension from Premier League action. Serge Aurier and Danny Rose start at full-back, while Michel Vorm gets the nod in goal.

With Eric Dier being rested, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko play in central midfield, with Dele Alli featuring further forward. Son Heung-min is a surprise starter given that this is a meaningless match for Spurs, but Georges-Kevin Nkoudou finally gets a chance to impress from the start this season.

As expected, Fernando Llorente starts ahead of Harry Kane this evening and it comes at a time when the Spaniard has appeared low in confidence. However, like with some of his teammates, a strong performance in this game could lead to a change in fortunes in the coming weeks.

On the bench, Ben Davies, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele all add experience, but Kyle Walker-Peters, Luke Amos and Kazaiah Sterling are all likely to be given opportunities should the first XI be able to do their job in the opening hour of the game.

As for APOEL, manager George Donis is without a number of first-team players for tonight's game but Mickael Pote is able to take his place in attack. The Benin forward has netted six goals from 10 league appearances this season.

Followers of Chelsea may also recognise the name of Nuno Morais. The Portuguese midfielder has gone on to enjoy a fine career with the 33-year-old initially signing for APOEL in 2007, but Morais had previously enjoyed a spell at Stamford Bridge where he made nine appearances between 2004 and 2007.

However, there is disappointment for Walsall fans who will not get to see former striker Andreas Makris make an appearance at the national stadium. Last season, Makris netted just once in 32 appearances for the League One club.

As far as permutations go, Spurs are top and that won't change, while Real are guaranteed second place. However, APOEL will be motivated to earn a result because they still have an opportunity to earn Europa League football after Christmas. For that to happen, they must better Borussia Dortmund's result against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could relegate the German giants to the bottom of the group.

Pochettino has never been shy in introducing youngsters into the first-team reckoning and he has done so tonight with Kazaiah Sterling and Luke Amos. However, he says that both of the youngsters are deserving of their place in the squad.

Sterling is a 19-year-old forward who is yet to make an appearance in senior football. However, two outings have been made in this season's Checkatrade Trophy, with a goal being scored in the 4-3 defeat to AFC Wimbledon at the start of October and more minutes being gained as a substitute at Barnet last week.

However, Amos has more experience to his name. Not only has he started two Checkatrade Trophy games this season, the 20-year-old midfielder spent the second half of the last campaign on loan at Southend United, with three outings coming in League One.

Many had expected Alli to be rested for tonight's game, especially given that question marks have been raised over his energy levels. However, Pochettino indicated at yesterday's press conference that he had not considered giving the midfielder a night off.

Alli, himself, has acknowledged that he has not necessarily been producing his best form. The England international still has seven goals from 18 appearances in all competitions, but he has suggested that he always looks at ways he can improve.

Llorente has endured a frustrating time in North London since joining Spurs from Swansea City, with the Spaniard starting just his fourth game in all competitions tonight. The forward has spent 403 minutes on the pitch and is still looking for his first goal. Everyone associated with the club will be hoping that arrives tonight.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is another player who has barely featured for Spurs. The Frenchman remains only 22 but he is at a stage where he needs to find a way to break into the team or move on to pastures new. This season, he has spent less than an hour on the pitch.

This is our final contribution to the theme of Spurs players who haven't been given much of a chance since August (although there are more players who could be added). Juan Foyth is only 19 so he wouldn't have expected to feature too many times this season but the Argentine has only played in the EFL Cup this campaign. That said, this will be his third appearance at Wembley Stadium so he should not be too overawed.

As far as Spurs' recent form is concerned, it has not been great. They are effectively out of contention for the Premier League title and if truth be told, they have a battle on their hands to end the season in the top four. Since beating Real Madrid, just two wins have been recorded from six matches in all competitions and they have not kept a clean sheet in their last five games.

A fuss over their results at Wembley will never likely go away and after their draw with West Bromwich Albion, Spurs now possess a record of six wins and three draws from 11 matches in all competitions. It's not the worst record, but Pochettino is yet to see his side be ruthless in front of goal against a lower-level team. That has got to end at some point, right?

A quick look at APOEL now and all things considered, they will be delighted to still have a chance of Europa League football with a game remaining. There was no doubt that they drew the short straw back in August, but two draws against Dortmund have potentially left them just a point away from remaining on the European scene in 2018.

The 6-0 defeat at the hands of Real may have come as a blessing in disguise. APOEL were woeful in that game and could have easily conceded into double figures, and they will be under orders to restore some pride tonight. Visiting Wembley is a big occasion for the club and their supporters, and they will sense an opportunity to earn one of their most famous results.

Back in domestic action, APOEL only sit in third place in the top flight but they have two games in hand on leaders AEK Larnaca. Wins have been recorded in their last five games, however, while 19 goals have been scored in their last half-a-dozen outings.

PREDICTION! Regardless of Spurs selecting a weakened side, we cannot back anything other than a home win. APOEL have the potential to make this difficult, but they may still be smarting from getting hammered by Real. Spurs to win 3-1.

HEAD TO HEAD! Tonight's contest represents just the second time in which these two teams have squared off in a competitive match. The other time was the reverse fixture in Cyprus back in September, with Spurs running out 3-0 winners thanks to a hat-trick from Kane. Don't be fooled into thinking it was a one-sided encounter, however. APOEL had their moments. Click here to refresh your memory.

Before that game, Spurs had last faced Cypriot opposition in the Europa League in 2014, with a 5-1 triumph on aggregate being recorded over Apollon Limassol. Paulinho and Andros Townsend were among the scorers during the second leg in North London, which Spurs won 3-0.

APOEL last made the visit to London in 2009 when they faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The match was a dead-rubber but that should not take anything away from the fact that APOEL managed to secure a 2-2 draw against a Chelsea side which still featured the likes of John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho and Didier Drogba.

We are just about ready to get started at Wembley Stadium. As you can imagine, it's far from a sell out but we are still looking at a sizeable crowd. The two teams are making their way out of the tunnel.

KICKOFF! APOEL get us underway.

It's worth us noting that Vorm has been handed the captaincy for tonight's game. He has already had an early touch as Spurs take their time in pushing forward.

SHOT! When Spurs do decide to go forward, they almost take an early lead. Aurier collected the ball around 25 yards out and fired a low shot marginally wide of the far post.

SHOT! Less than a minute later, Son does the same from the opposite side of the pitch and he sees his low strike tipped behind for a corner by Perez.

It's all Spurs in these early stages. Alli is seeing plenty of the ball but the APOEL defence are swarming around him each time he is in possession.

Alli is always given freedom to play as he wants, but he appears to have been provided with licence to roam more so than usual, with the England international now popping up down the left flank before just failing to get a cross into the box.

CHANCE! APOEL are really struggling to cope at the moment. The ball falls invitingly for Son inside the penalty area and the South Korean attacker should probably score. However, he scuffs his volley which goes well wide of the post.

CHANCES! How have Spurs not scored? Llorente sees a header saved by Perez before Nkoudou has a close-range effort cleared off the line. The ball then returns into the box for Sanchez, but he glances a header wide of the post.

LATEST! In the other game, Real Madrid have already taken the lead against Dortmund, which is music to the ears of APOEL. If the scores remain the same, they are heading into the Europa League but it is very early days.

Things have quietened down a touch now. They needed to because Spurs have been playing at 200mph. You feel as though APOEL will need to score in this game because you cannot see them keeping a clean sheet.

LATEST! Real have scored a second at the Bernabeu. I think it is fair to say that APOEL will be heading through if they can avoid defeat.

With Spurs reverting to a back four, you have to wonder whether Pochettino is considering it as an option for the weekend. It's been a while since the Argentine opted against using a back three. The home side are still in full control of this game.

CHANCE! A low cross from Aurier almost finds Llorente in the six-yard box but APOEL just about manage to get the ball behind for a corner. The first comes to nothing but the second arrives at the head of Foyth, who sends a bullet header just over the bar.

Spurs take a deserved lead and Llorente has his goal! Aurier whips another ball into the penalty area and after a sharp turn from the Spaniard, he is able to fire a shot into the bottom corner from close range. Relief for the striker and Pochettino.

It's going to be a long night for APOEL from here. Spurs are playing with a freedom which we haven't seen for weeks. They are very easy on the eye tonight.

Spurs are content with keeping possession for now. I'm starting to feel sorry for APOEL because they haven't stopped chasing the ball in these opening 24 minutes.

The home side have had 11 attempts on goal in these opening 26 minutes. ELEVEN! Just the four on target, but that number will rise considerably throughout the night, you would imagine.

CHANCE! Here's the fifth effort on target but it was never threatening a goal. Sissoko's weak header from a Llorente cross goes straight at Perez.

This is little more than a friendly match now. There have been better atmospheres at England matches. Spurs are back to playing keep-ball.

We have not seen that much of Nkoudou down the left. He is a willing runner but most of his work is being done off the ball. He will be hoping that Pochettino allows him the chance to play the full match in order to try to make an impression.

To their credit, APOEL have had more of the ball over the past few minutes. They had half a shout for a free kick on the edge of the box when Rose made minimal contact, but the referee probably made the correct decision.

We've gone back to Spurs passing the ball about at will on the halfway line. Winks appears to be involved in every third pass. APOEL are sitting deep as soon as they lose possession.

That's probably game over, even at this stage. Son plays a one-two with Llorente on the edge of the box before curling the ball into the corner from 20 yards out. Pochettino's men are coasting.

A rare sighting of the ball in the Spurs area almost leads to Pote getting a header on goal, but his effort goes straight up in the air and Vorm makes the easy claim.

On more than one occasion, Alli has gone down without being given a free kick. He usually gets criticism for going down too easily but tonight, he is hitting the deck with reason.

SHOT! Just the two minutes to go now. I think both teams would be happy if the referee blew up with a minute remaining. Son has just tried to inject some life back into the match but Perez was equal to his long-range strike.

The half-time whistle goes at Wembley and it has been as easy as you like for Spurs, who lead thanks to goals from Llorente and Son. It's left APOEL facing the prospect of finishing bottom of the group and they will miss out on the Europa League unless they can achieve a point from this match. It's not looking likely...

The opening goal came through Llorente, who has finally scored his first goal in a Spurs shirt after seven hours of trying. The Spaniard turned smartly on the edge of the six-yard box before finding the bottom corner with his left foot. He will hope that it's the first of many after a frustrating start to life in North London.

Llorente turned provider for the second goal, with the forward playing a one-two with Son before the South Korean curled a delightful shot into the far corner of the net from 20 yards.

Spurs should probably be further ahead but despite being thoroughly outclassed, APOEL have done well to keep it to just the two goals. They will probably be satisfied with a consolation goal because two seems out of their reach.

It probably won't matter, but Dortmund have pulled a goal back in Madrid. That result only becomes relevant if APOEL can draw or win this match.

KICKOFF! Spurs get us back underway. Sallai has replaced Vinicius for APOEL.

Spurs have started this second half where they left off. It's all very casual from both sides.

The first sign of positivity from Spurs sees a break move towards completion with a pass to Alli on offer to Sissoko, but the Frenchman takes too much time.

CHANCE! APOEL almost pull a goal back! The ball finds Vouros at the back post and the defender's effort looks destined for the bottom corner. However, a deflection off Rose takes his shot marginally wide. Let off for Spurs.

LATEST! Dortmund are now level with Real Madrid! What a comeback from the German side. They must really want to be in the Europa League.

SHOT! APOEL have been the better team at the start of this second half. I don't imagine that Pochettino is too pleased. Nkoudou just attempted a shot for Spurs, but it was deflected wide of the far post.

SHOT! Back come APOEL who manage to fashion a chance for Ebcilio on the edge of the box. However, rather than taking a touch, he sends a first-time effort high over the crossbar.

CHANCE! Better from Spurs but Llorente shows that perhaps his confidence has not fully returned. He attempts a volley from around 10 yards out, but he miscues it and APOEL survive.

SHOT! Spurs win a free kick on the edge of the box and Son takes responsibility for it. Perhaps he should have left it to a teammate because he can only curl it well wide of the post.

Less than 30 minutes to go now and APOEL are really going to have to pull off something special if they are to get anything from this game. That period of pressure seems to have come to an end.

SHOT! Nkoudou has been much more threatening during this half and he wastes no time in getting a shot away on the left-hand side of the area. However, Perez is equal to it as he dives down to his left.

BOOKING! Aurier is a very lucky boy. It's an absolute stonewaller of a red card. He slides his studs down the shin of Aloneftis but the referee decides to give the right-back a yellow.

SUBSTITUTION! Pochettino makes his first change, with Dembele replacing Son.

BOOKING! Rose and Sallai both go into the book for such a needless coming-together. They both reacted to a tussle on the flank and effectively bumped into each other.

SUBSTITUTION! Spurs have been playing with 10 men for a couple of minutes due to a cut to Rose and Pochettino has decided to throw on Walker-Peters in his place.

There's not a whole lot happening now. Both sets of supporters have started to lose interest and you could hear a pin drop. Spurs could do with ending with a flurry to at least get the fans engaged again.

All eyes are now on which Spurs youngster will be given their first-team debut. Llorente is carrying a knock so it could be Sterling.

SUBSTITUTION! A second change for APOEL sees Aloneftis replaced by De Camargo.

I'd be surprised if we see another goal. We are just going through the motions at Wembley. There's every chance of a paper aeroplane making an appearance from the top tier.

Me and my big mouth. Nkoudou scores his first goal for Spurs via the aid of a deflection. His shot had been heading for the far corner but instead, it's diverted into the net at the near post.

BOOKING! Rueda goes into the book for a crude challenge on Nkoudou.

SHOT! Alli knows that he is about to be substituted so takes a free kick on from 25 yards. However, it's straight at Perez.

We are still waiting for the introduction of Sterling. He needs the ball to go out but APOEL are keeping hold of it!

Well this is downright cruel. The ball has not gone out for four minutes and Sterling still waits on the touchline. Kick it out!

SUBSTITUTION! The crowd cheer as the ball goes out. Here comes Sterling who replaces Alli.

There will be three minutes of added-on time.

Spurs are keeping the ball now, just to ensure that they keep their clean sheet. All in all, it's been a good night for the North Londoners.

The full-time whistle goes at Wembley and Spurs have completed a comfortable 3-0 win over APOEL. Llorente, Son and Nkoudou all got on the scoresheet as Pochettino witnessed his team record a welcome victory. APOEL drop into the Europa League.
