Ten-man Sporting Kansas City battle to win over Houston Dynamo

Ten-man Kansas beat Houston

Sporting Kansas City managed to beat the odds after being reduced to 10 men by recording a 2-0 victory over Houston Dynamo at the BBVA Compass Stadium.

The numerical advantage was handed to Houston in just the 21st minute when Toni was given his marching orders for clashing with Alex Lopez, who was shown a yellow card for his role in the incident.

However, it was Kansas who went into the break ahead when Soony Saad fired the ball into the bottom corner from 25 yards to break the deadlock.

Houston applied plenty of pressure after the interval, but Will Bruin wasted their best opportunity to level the scores when Will Bruin drilled a loose ball wide from the middle of the box.

AJ Cochran gifted Kansas the chance to double their advantage when he handled in the area, and Dom Dwyer slotted the ball home from 12 yards to secure the victory for the visitors.
