David Silva claims that he would choose Spain teammate Andres Iniesta over Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Spain and Manchester City winger David Silva has claimed that he would choose Spain teammate Andres Iniesta over Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Silva believes that Iniesta's overall influence for Spain is greater than that of Ronaldo, who he will face in Wednesday's Euro 2012 semi-final, despite the Portuguese being regarded as the second-best player in the world.

"The press often ask me about Messi and Ronaldo and who is the best but one thing for me is very clear," Silva said.

"For me, the number one is Iniesta, because he is my teammate for Spain and I can see that he is able to do even more difficult things on the pitch. Andres is magic with the ball and a great person, a big player for the team."

Spain's semi-final with Portugal kicks off at 7.45pm in Donetsk.
