Raul "happy" with Al Sadd move

Former Real Madrid striker Raul has admitted that he cannot wait to start his "new adventure" at Al Sadd.

The 34-year-old joined the Qatari club on a free transfer after departing Schalke, and he has revealed his delight at the move.

"Negotiations with Al Sadd started three months ago. I felt the seriousness of the officials, and my wife's good impression of Doha after visiting it a month ago made me accept the offer," he told reporters.

"My wife and I feel that we have taken the right decision. We are happy to make a new adventure, especially after the warm reception here."

Raul could yet make the Spain squad for Euro 2012.
