Guillem Balague predicts 'fascinating' game

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague believes that Spain and Italy will play a thrilling contest in the Euro 2012 final.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has predicted a tight fight between Italy and Spain in tonight's Euro 2012 final.

Spain look to make history by winning a third consecutive title, while Italy hunt for their first European crown since 1968.

"For me this has been one of the best tournaments that I have been to," Balague told Sky Sports News. "This game will see two sides that may keep the ball but they will be patient and wait to seize a chance. There will be different gears and it will be an interesting game."

Despite being a journalist himself, Balague has berated the Spanish press for piling too much pressure on the national side.

"We played Italy in the first game and the Spanish press decided that we were not good enough because we should have beaten Italy.

"It's fair that the press want us to do well but the players see all the coverage on the television. They want us to win, to beat and destroy everyone? It's too much, but the pressure has not got to them."

The final is just hours away at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.
