Vicente del Bosque defends tactics

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque defends the tactics that he has used at Euro 2012 so far.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has defended the tactics that he has employed during his side's three matches at Euro 2012 so far.

The boss has come in for some criticism at certain times for failing to play with a recognised striker.

However, having seen his side defeat Croatia 1-0 last night, Del Bosque insisted that he has seen a number of positives in their displays of late.

"I accept that some people will complain about many decisions I make, but I have seen many good things with this team," he told reporters at a press conference.

"Yesterday, we controlled the match and I still think they suffered more than us. When I took [Fernando] Torres off, they lost their presence in the middle of the pitch."

Spain will face either France, England or co-hosts Ukraine in the quarter-finals.
