Katharina Liebherr: 'Southampton players not for sale'

Southampton chairwoman Katharina Liebherr has denied speculation that she would be looking to sell some of the club's players in the January transfer window.

Liebherr appointed herself as chairwoman following Nicola Cortese's resignation earlier this week and has moved to reassure fans who were concerned about the sale of assets.

"The club has no plans to sell any of the squad during the January transfer window," BBC Sport quotes her as saying.

Saints take on Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday.
