Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic pleased to get back to winning ways

Dusan Tadic describes Southampton's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace as "important" following a three-game winless run for the team.

Dusan Tadic has admitted that it was important for Southampton to get back to winning ways with their 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

The Saints ended a three-game winless run in the Premier League last night as a late goal from Sadio Mane saw them beat the Eagles at St Mary's Stadium.

Tadic now hopes that he and his teammates can push on in the battle for a top-four finish.

"It was a really important three points for us, finally we got them," the midfielder told the club's official website. "We have good supporters - they push us and in the end we get goals.

"It was a really good feeling but we just need to relax and to play our game and then goals are going to come, and we just need to enjoy our football. Everyone now when they play against Southampton, they give more energy, but this is normal, it happens during the season – you go up and you go down and these are normal things."

Southampton continue their Premier League campaign on March 15 when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
