Maarten Stekelenburg has said that he is looking to rebuild his career at Southampton.
The Dutch goalkeeper has moved to St Mary's on a season-long loan from Fulham, having struggled to make an impact during his two years with the London club.
Stekelenburg says that the chance to team up with Saints boss Ronald Koeman was too good to turn down.
"Last year I did not play a lot so it is an opportunity for me and I believe that at 32 my best years are ahead of me," the shot-stopper told the Daily Star.
"Ronald Koeman is a legend in Holland and I am flattered that he wanted me. I must repay him for giving me a chance with such a good club."
Stekelenburg made just one appearance during his season-long loan to AS Monaco last term.
