Spurs offer Pochettino three-year deal?

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly edged a step closer to appointing Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager by offering the Argentine a three-year contract.

Shortly after Tim Sherwood was sacked earlier this month, the Southampton manager was quickly reported to be a leading candidate for the role.

After deciding against following up their interest in Frank de Boer, Spurs are attempting to secure the 41-year-old's services before the end of the week.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham chairman Levy has contacted Pochettino's officials with an offer worth £3.5m annually.

However, Southampton are believed to have made one final attempt to keep their manager by offering a three-year deal of their own, as well as the promise that all funds from potential sales will be made available in the transfer window.
