Southampton are reportedly close to completing the signings of Gaston Ramirez and Matt Phillips for a combined fee of £18m.

Premier League new boys Southampton are reportedly on the verge of signing two wingers for a combined fee of £18m.

The Saints are currently in advanced talks with Bologna's Gaston Ramirez after the two clubs agreed a £12m fee.

According to The Mirror, manager Nigel Adkins is also close to sealing a £6m deal to bring Blackpool's Matt Phillips to St Mary's.

The duo could potentially make their debuts in Saturday's home match against Wigan Athletic.
